Our group of friends has bonded even more deeply over the course of the pandemic (including finding creative ways to connect like the “garage meet-up” last May). We have had fun finding different ways to learn about the Civil War. In addition to the Yale course, we read a lot of different Civil War books, watched the Ken Burns series on the Civil War, and even watched Gone with the Wind serving a “traditional Southern dinner” during the movie intermission.

We have two “special additions” to our traveling group - Tim & Lynn’s daughter, Anna, will be joining us for part of our trip before starting her residency in OB GYN at the University of Minnesota. And lastly, Kevin & Kris’ brand new Golden Retriever puppy, Ellie, is coming, too. We all have our own travel trailers and will be meeting up in Gettysburg, PA. From there, we will travel to a number of states in the Southeast to visit some highlights of the Civil War.

We have a beautiful day for our final packing! Kevin & Kris are already out East and Tim & Lynn left today. We leave tomorrow and Rob & Mary a couple of days later. We are looking forward to all meeting up for our Civil War Adventure!
